We are seeking Expressions of Interest for the position of Leading Hand on our worksites in and around Brisbane, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coasts.
The position of Leading Hand is a supervisory role within Cogent Scaffolding. A Leading Hand must implement and initiate work activities that are passed on from the Project Manager.
The Leading Hand is responsible for direction and coordination of scaffolding crew on any particular Cogent Scaffolding project, and the implementation and completion of specific goals assigned for that day.
REQUIREMENTS
To be a Leading Hand, you will be required to:
- Lead and mentor scaffold crew members to deliver a safe and profitable project
- Attend all Leading Hand meetings that are conducted by Cogent Scaffolding Management
- Conduct Tool Box meetings on a weekly basis
- Conduct & submit Prestart meetings on a daily basis
- Assign duties to the scaffolding crew
- Provide overall management of that day’s site activities
- Liaise with on-site Foreman’s and relevant contractors to ensure a smooth & well planned project delivery
- Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately. Day Labour Dockets, Handovers, Daily Activity Reports etc
- Ensure all scaffolding staff hold correct/valid tickets for each particular task
To be a Leading Hand you should have:
- Leadership skills
- Planning and organisational skills
- Time management skills
- Know how to prioritise work loads
- Good decision making, communication and delegation skills
- Experience in a prior Leading Hand role

- Drivers licence
- High Risk Work Licence
- Blue or White card
- Around 2 years’ experience in a commercial scaffolding environment and experience as a Leading Hand
- Belt and tools
