Callista on Park is the final and most premium chapter in the award-winning West Village precinct at West End — a 20-storey residential tower delivering over 190 apartments designed by the celebrated architectural practice Rothelowman. Developed by Sekisui House Australia and constructed by long-time Cogent partner Hutchinson Builders, Callista represents the culmination of one of Brisbane’s most successful inner-city urban renewal stories.

Cogent Scaffolding is proud to be delivering the complete scaffolding solution for Callista, continuing a strong working relationship with Hutchinson Builders built across numerous projects. Our scope covers the full height of the tower and includes perimeter scaffolding, edge protection and handrail systems, and access and egress platforms across all levels of the build — providing the safe, reliable working environment that every trade on site depends on from the ground up.

The building itself sets a high bar. Designed by Rothelowman, Callista’s architecture is defined by a sculptural façade with a rhythmic composition of depth and dimension — a warm material palette of natural stone, timber textures and soft-toned finishes, layered with expanses of glazing that open each residence to the city skyline and adjacent parkland. That level of architectural ambition has real implications for scaffolding. A façade this considered — with projecting balconies, varied setbacks, and a complex exterior rhythm — demands a scaffold design that provides full perimeter access while accommodating the building’s geometry. Our team works closely with Hutchinson Builders to ensure the system is sequenced to support the façade installation programme without constraining the precision that a building of this quality requires.

West Village itself adds another layer of context. The precinct has held a Six Star Green Star Community rating from the Green Building Council of Australia — the country’s highest rating for a master-planned community — reflecting Sekisui House’s commitment to sustainability embedded across the development. That culture extends to how the construction site is managed, with expectations around site cleanliness, environmental controls, and amenity for the surrounding West End community that align closely with how Cogent approaches every project we work on.

Working within an established, active precinct like West Village also presents logistical considerations that a greenfield site does not. The surrounding residential and retail environment means access routes, deliveries, and site footprint all need to be carefully managed, and our scaffold system is designed to minimise the impact on the street and neighbouring buildings throughout the build.

Callista is the kind of project that reflects what Cogent does best — Tier 1 scaffolding capability in support of a premium residential build, delivered in close partnership with a builder we know and trust. We’re proud to be part of bringing this final chapter of West Village to life.
