Monarch Residences is one of Brisbane’s most anticipated riverfront developments — a landmark residential project on a north-facing 1.2-hectare site at 600 Coronation Drive, Toowong, with 130 metres of uninterrupted Brisbane River frontage. Developed by Consolidated Properties Group and constructed by Hutchinson Builders, Monarch will deliver 224 oversized apartments across a collection of three and four-bedroom residences and penthouses, with apartment sizes reaching up to 250m² and the signature penthouse exceeding 400m².

The setting is exceptional. Sweeping views extend from St Lucia across to Mt Coot-tha, while the address places residents within three kilometres of the Brisbane CBD, moments from the Regatta Ferry Terminal, the Bicentennial Bikeway, Toowong Village, and Toowong Train Station. It is the kind of riverfront position that rarely becomes available, and Consolidated Properties Group has designed a development worthy of it — with resort-style amenities including a heated infinity pool, private dining area, residents’ lounge, sauna, Winter Den, and private barbecue areas woven through the site.

Cogent Scaffolding is delivering the scaffolding works for Monarch in partnership with Hutchinson Builders — a relationship built across multiple high-profile Brisbane projects and grounded in shared standards for delivery, safety, and professionalism. The riverfront site presents its own set of challenges that a typical urban site does not. Working on a north-facing riverbank with 130 metres of water frontage means managing wind exposure and the proximity of scaffolding systems to the river’s edge, with careful attention to engineering, tie-in design, and safe working conditions for our crews across all levels.

The scale and specification of the building itself also shapes the scaffolding requirement. At 224 residences with oversized floor plates, Monarch is not a compact tower — it is a substantial structure with a generous building footprint and a façade designed to maximise the river outlook and capture the breezes of the Coronation Drive corridor. Providing comprehensive perimeter scaffold and access across a building of this footprint, from podium level through to the upper residential floors, requires careful planning and sequencing to keep all trades moving and the programme on track.

The quality benchmark on a development like Monarch is high. Buyers in the market for residences at this level — with price points reflecting the premium of 250m² riverfront apartments and a 400m²-plus penthouse — expect a build that reflects the promise of the product. That expectation of quality and site presentation is something Cogent takes seriously, and it is part of why our relationship with Hutchinson Builders continues to grow across projects of this calibre.

Monarch Residences is due for completion in 2026 and will become one of Brisbane’s defining riverfront addresses. We’re proud to be on site with Hutchies, contributing to what is genuinely a once-in-a-generation development for Toowong.
