This week, Cogent Scaffolding is proud to once again support MATES in Construction’s Fly the Flag campaign.
We have been flying the MATES flag and supporting their initiatives across our projects for many years. As the flag tours our sites, each crew is invited to sign it and take the MATES pledge—a commitment to look out for their mates, start honest conversations and make sure no one faces a difficult time alone.
The flag is an outward display of the important work our industry does every day to improve mental health and prevent suicide. In an industry where workers are more than twice as likely to die by suicide as other employed people in Australia, checking in with a mate can make a genuine difference.
MATES in Construction has supported our industry since 2008 through workplace programs, case management and its free 24/7 helpline.
